Judgment Day

John 8:7
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

How many times have you passed judgment on someone or have they passed it on you? How many times has someone proven your original judgments about them false? It’s always easier to find fault in others than in ourselves. We as human beings are so imperfect but at the same token this gives us reason to strive for excellence. If we were perfect then we would already be at our peak, doing everything right, at the highest level of achievement, and so on. If we keep our eyes on God and remember to continue to do his will and not our own, then we will have already won the battle. One thing we should all keep in mind before we place judgment on anyone is that we don’t know their struggles. Unless we have walked in their shoes, how do we know that we wouldn’t have made the same choices that they have? I don’t know about you but I don’t know anyone who is without sin, fault, or essentially perfect. We all make mistakes but the key is not to focus on our mistakes or past. Forward movement is a MUST! I hope to encourage you not to try not to pass judgment on that person you know whom you may not be getting along with or that friend who is always doing the unthinkable. You never know how your words may affect others. You could be the last person who someone ever talks to so why not keep it positive? The other side of this is, if you are jealous of someone why aren’t you remembering that God made us in his image? This means we are all special because God is within us. Just because someone is seemingly doing well doesn’t mean this is in all aspects of their life. There is always room for improvement for everyone. A quote I want to leave you with to remember is, “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones!” Let’s uplift one another rather than tear each other down.

Tick Tock

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Timing is everything and a key essential in life. What to do when is often a question that we ask ourselves daily.  Planning is very important if we want to succeed in life. Without goals and ambition then you are sure to stay stagnant in your life. A famous quote from Malcolm X which applies to this subject is, “If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.” Know who you are and use your time wisely! The verse aforementioned above lets us know that in life, this TOO shall pass. No matter what you are going through remember, there are times when certain things will come to be and also a time when you shall see it all pass. This should be something reassuring for all of us. As time goes on and we get older I’m sure that you may think of times in the past that seemed stressful which appear now so trivial. The key to mastering life and time is to keep moving forward. Time will keep moving forward so why shouldn’t you? No matter how tough the situation may seem now remember this too shall pass! Your yesterday does not determine your tomorrow! Progression means a movement toward a goal or to a further or higher stage. God wants us all to reach our ultimate level of success and achievement! God has already opened a door for us; all we have to do is let nothing deter us from getting there! I encourage you to let no one steal your joy! Remember the only person who can stop you from achieving your goals is YOU! Tomorrow is not promised to any of us so let us make our marks in the world starting today! It’s GO Time! Let’s go J
